If you or someone you love has adopted or is in the process of adoption, you understand that this is a process which weaves itself into the very fiber of a person’s being. For a family in waiting, their child is the first and the last thing they think about each and every day as they enter a world of unknowns, anticipation, and often fallen expectations. While this may be true for all growing families, the resources available to adoptive families compared to families pursuing natural childbirth is staggeringly unbalanced. Therefore it is my desire to provide a thirty-day devotional series dedicated to families who just need a short, ten to fifteen minutes of Biblical encouragement each morning directed towards topics specific to adoptive families in waiting. This resource will also be helpful to the family members and friends surrounding those who are adopting. No two adoptions are alike, and for those who wish to love and support their adopting loved ones, navigating what to say as well as how or when to say it is often daunting enough to keep you silent or aloof. By reading these short, daily messages, you will receive insights into the hearts of adoptive families, and can even use the topics as conversation starters to share further encouragement with these families.
The vision for this devotional series lies in Hebrews 10:23-25. I especially like how The Message words it:
So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.
So let’s keep His word together, and encourage one another in this new and exciting series! To access the devotions you can either check back daily or click the “Follow” icon at the bottom of this page (PC only) to receive your morning devotion in the form of a convenient E-mail. Rest assured this site does not share your contact information with anyone, including myself, unless you request otherwise, so your participation in this series is risk free and confidential if you desire. Please share this announcement with friends and family so that as many people who might gain benefit from this series might gain access as well. I look forward to this and perhaps future series dedicated to loving these kids and supporting those who are fighting to bring these sweet ones home.
In His service,
